Erika Yahgujaanas

Erika was born and raised in Old Massett on Haida Gwaii.

Her family comes from Xuuts Nee - Grizzly Bear House and she is a member of the Yahgulaanas Raven Clan. Tsinni Claude Jones gave Erika the Haida name Gaadgaas in 2008. Currently residing in Skidegate on Haida Gwaii, Erika is an active member of the community working for the Local Food to School Program, Restorative Justice, and also teaches Xaayda Kil (Haida Language) at a local elementary school. Her passion for Land Based Education and Cultural Revitalization drives her to support these events in the communities of Haida Gwaii.

My First Solo, was written to inspire youth to complete their transformative solo nights at Rediscovery Camps.
