Home to the fastest man (Usain Bolt), Reggae legend... the great Bob Marley, Jamaica it was called... the birth place of this child, with a Shakespearean nature… Mikayla Wright...

As a young girl I grew up with a passion for reading and writing. My early years in school proved I was born special... at six years old, I was the runner up in the National Spelling Bee Contest... I was on the honor roll... and I received the Principal Award at my grade school graduation.

After seven years in the warm climate of Jamaica, I migrated to cool cold Canada with my Mom.

My life didn’t just see a temperature change, my status also changed - from single child to big sister...

Time continued on, one day became weeks, months became years...

I overcame the bullies of my elementary school years with the peaceful meditation of putting pen to paper...

Now I write stories, not only in my free time, but also in the times I choose to be free...

My hope, dream and aspiration of becoming a Journalist or a Military Officer will never be shattered, as my best quote lives inside me:
