From maternal Sylix, Tsartlip & Paternal Han, Northern Tutchone, and Wolf Clan. proud Mother of 3 young daughters and expecting a 4th baby soon, Shadae was born and raised by her single mother Iona Paul, in and around the urban settings of Vancouver, BC.
She always had access to a rich culture and was raised very traditionally. Thankful to share, Shadae celebrates 16 years of sobriety, since 2007. instead choosing to be a leader to her family and a role model for others. living a lifestyle free of substance abuse, Shadae now knew that she could give her family a safe and sober mother and wife.
Shadae feels strongly that, because “we live in two worlds”, it is important to gain both western and traditional knowledge. She has an associate degree in fine arts, an associate degree in environmental sciences and an associate degree in Native American Leadership.
Shadae and her family are also active in traveling and dancing at powwows. As a Native American Church member, Shadae respects the Dooli law of her Tutchone People and enjoys attending Canoe Journeys. she is a member of traditional Coast Salish Dance Group “Coastal Wolf Pack”, and is deeply rooted in Coast Salish Long house teachings.
